Remember those old boxy designs from Volvo of years past? They're long gone now, replaced by a "softer and gentler" exterior with the introduction of the last-generation wagon. But the next-generation edition - the all-new 2008 V70 - unveiled at the 2007 Los Angeles Auto Show reveals the most dynamic and crisply-styled wagon to date.

Consistent with the company's emphasis on safety, this new Volvo features an all-new potentially life-saving technology package called Collision Avoidance, consisting of a lane-departure warning system, adaptive cruise control and warning, and driver-alert control, collectively a bargain at only $1695.

The proven 235-bhp 3.2-liter inline-6 engine from the Volvo S80 luxury sports sedan makes its way into the Swedish company's popular wagon for the first time.

Says Anne Belec, president and chief executive officer, "The attitude toward the modern wagon has undergone a significant change. With greater focus on design and comfort, the all-new V70 is both luxurious and practical. It's not just for families with growing children but also for active people who demand everything of their cars." Very roomy and very hip, and with a base price of only $32,465, the all-new Volvo V70 wagon might just have the prescription for success.
