The next big thing is small cars, as demonstrated by the Suzuki Concept A-Star, an A-class minicar designed with a fuel-efficient and low-emissions 3-cylinder 1.0- liter engine built in India.

This small 5-door hatchback has a large single frame grille flanked by projector -beam headlights with turn-signal “eyebrows.” Although tiny, the A-Star looks mean thanks to the large grille and lower intakes. In profile, the A-Star has a low greehouse and beefy rocker panels that swoop upward into the car’s muscular rear haunches. The taillamps are slits that wrap from the side into the rear hatch. The tail of the car sports two exhuast openings and Suzuki’s large “S” logo.

Riding on a 92.9-in. wheelbase, the A-Star measures just 141.0 in. in overall length and is 66.1 in wide.

Shown in a right-hand-drive configuration, the A-Star has a wing-shaped floating instrument panel and a center console that drops down from the center stack. Pink accents below the dash and on the seats offset the black leather interior. The front-drive A-Star is equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission and sports large 17-in. tires, 4-wheel disc brakes, traction control and dual front and side airbags.
