What better place than Europe for Suzuki to show off the SX4? The new car shined in Geneva, showing the world that making compact hatchbacks is not restricted to the Europeans. The all-wheel-drive SX4 sat near Suzuki’s star of the show, a car appropriately called Concept A-Star. While the A-Star offered a glimpse into Suzuki’s expertise in making small cars (the company is one of the most successful kei car makers in Japan), the SX4 isn’t only about commuting and economy, it’s about a way of life.

The SX4 provides more utility than most anything in its class, with gobs of interior space and all-wheel drive. Under the hood is a peppy inline-4 that delivers good power while offering great fuel economy. And Suzuki has priced it well below the $20,000 mark in the U.S. It’s the ideal mount for weekend adventurers who are on a tight budget, and it’s still an exceptional everyday commuter. The SX4 sedan is a smart choice for value-minded enthusiasts, so if you are thinking about buying a Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla, you may want to sample this SX4 first.
